“Everything for the fish,” this is our motto at Kulmer. Even though the Kulmer family has been an inn and a part of East Styrian agriculture for some time, the fish first found their way into Haslau in 1960. This is when Sophie and Franz Kulmer Senior invested in a pair of fish ponds for the inn. At one time, guests were able to pick and catch the fish which would be prepared for them on a wood burning stove in the traditional Kulmer-fashion. Franz Kulmer Junior set off to explore the kitchens across the broad-Earth, and together with his Anni, he brought a new impetus to the Kulmer kitchen. Whether Kulmer fish soup with curry, salmon-trout maki or better yet, the traditional trout cooked in the house-style; in the Kulmer house there is always something desirable for a fish connoisseur.
